birthday treats

in addition to fabulous cooking implements (not pictured, although the fruit of my future labors in the kitchen may well show up here), i got these treats for my birthday a couple of weeks ago:

lots and lots of cool fabric from purl patchwork. you never know when you might need to quilt all of the sudden. it's best to be prepared.

i'm thinking of these three fabrics for the quilt for anni and ben's baby weasel, due to arrive in december:

iznik tiles

i saw these lovely tiles at ann sacks. they're on the decorative side, but i think they're super cool. they have lots of other styles, too.

i've been snapping up some adorable little dresses lately. the one below is from an italian vintage store in williamburg, amarcord:

i got this little vintage-inspired number in chicago a few weekends ago while on a trip with my mom and sisters. i look pretty cute in it.

i have been busy with work lately, but i have found a few amazing books:

i will use this book as source material for my next quilt - a hawaiian style baby quilt.
