new from wunderkammer

from jessica polka's amazing wunderkammer, a taxonomy of crochet stitches and forms.

sea urchins

dc

last weekend we went to visit krissy and chris in dc. we did lots of fun stuff, including seeing this deer with fangs (i love the natural history museum in dc!), and the botanical garden behind the capital where luke took these amazing pictures.

new cross stitch pattern - cliffy!

my first homemade cross stitch pattern. this is cliffy, from a couple of years ago. i'll more pictures as i progress. it's been kind of slow going; i currently only have one small area in color #3 finished (you can see what i've done so far - it's marked off on my "pattern").

cyrus's quilt!

i've started cyrus's quilt. a sea life version of a hawaiian quilt. this is the first layer of complexity... more updates to come soon.

testing the cross stitch waters

after a 15 year hiatus, i've started cross stitching again. here are some tests to determine the best fabric size...

remember christmas?

i had a great plan to do a little section about all the fabulous christmas presents i got, but these things do slip away... i'll slip them into the blog as i go, and today i'll show this tasty product of the mandolin that mom got me. yummy.
